MK3 rules announced

so it was just announced that MK3 rules are coming out on 12th of June

yes, people have done nothing but an outstanding work with this! cheers
maybe in the future though we can organize that error/rules reporting are handled a bit differently. i mean, not that they are posted all around the threads and such but that every release not by accident contains old typos and so on.
other than that... who needs the pp app?!? Very Happy

not so excited about MKIII coming, especially since things like pre-measuring distances have been confirmed.

at the same time excited and scared... this will be so much work!

i'm sure we have to find a new way for collaborative work : the actual solution is so bad, i forget a lot of issues and merging files is difficult. i believe i will develop a web site just for this so that everybody can push corrections without having to edit XML.

also, don't expect this to be quick : i have actually no clue at all for the mk3, so i will discover everything at the same time that everybody... and after that i will be a long way to integrate...

I'd like to volunteer to update whac to MKIII as fast as possible. I know nothing of programming but I'm sure I can follow some sort of prepared XML to update information.

Such a website would be greatly appreciated. I'll do what I can to help. I think we should see this as an opportunity to achieve a near-flawless card base. Assuming models still have the same stats and army construction stays roughly the same(which we have all reason to assume), the core application would hardly need any changes, right?

Also, because this is my first post here I'll take the opportunity to say: THANK YOU!

i will surely work on this. the edition of XML is tedious but doable when working at one-person level, but it will not be ok for massive collaborative work. my plan is to create a GUI with access to the data, and allow to edit directly on a page "card like".

assuming the card structure will not change much, i will start this as soon as possible, with the hope to have something (at least basically) working for the official release of MK3.

it seems a bunch of people is interested in supporting... whether by donating, contributing with stats, etc.
it feels as though there should be some structure like:
1. app
1.1. current version infos
1.2. issues
1.3. future features
2. data files
2.1. faction x
2.1.1. new model rules
2.1.2. model stats errors

etc.
I am no developer expert however how a project like this should be set up. I guess github offers a sound structure already?!
To get a timely start for MK3, do you not think the community should already be preparing the developing environment already...?
Like who would like to do what etc...
I am happy to get in touch with a project group and discuss stuff (skype or whatever with whoever wants to contribute)

hi,

the visual editor is for mk2, and i did not create it so it will not work. also, it would be to much trouble to merge each version.

Hi,

I can transfer the Trollbloods to MK3. And Cryx, if need be.

Only thing is that I would do it "oldfashioned" by editing the xml- files. Having a Linux computer and a really, really bad internet connection (sometimes not that bad, though...) make both the XML-Editor-GUI and the website more difficult for me.

Just leave a PM if I can help you. I love your app, way much easier and more complete than any of the others available.

Just finished the changes on the online editor, a lot were done before I started. Good Job!

Still missing:

- Placeholder Stormsmith Grenadiers (Cygnar Unit)
- Stats on the placeholder Blackclad Stoneshaper (Circle Solo)
- Placeholder for Kromac2 (Circle Warcaster)
- Praetorian Karax Officer & Standart is not working (Skorne UA)
